Hi,
i
want to recommend old airport food center, nasi lemak, rice
with chicken wing, egg, ikan bilis and nuts selling at $2. the
stall provides sufficient rice than other stalls which sell at
same price. the stall name is Weng Hock Nasi Lemak.
i
paid same price for stall @ Hup Lee, but only rice and wing
and egg. some stalls same price but the rice is not enough for
me.
Thank
you
Jacqueline

If
only each constituency has the same effort for we cannot end
up going to Bedok just for the meal…
At
Heartland Mall Kovan, there is one stall on the higher
level, selling Tou Hua (very soft and nice) for just 30 cents
per bowl…..same price for umpteen years…
With
best wishes,
Nicholas

Dear
Sir/Mdm,
May
the officer in charge submit my email to the MP concern. Thank
you.
First
of all, I think it is a good idea to inform all citizens of
stalls selling cheap or reasonable prices in
Singapore
. But I'm staying in Ghim Moh, how can myself or others that
are not living in the vicinity to patronise these stalls that
are selling at cheap or reasonable prices ? To cummute to
these stalls, it just doesn't make economic sense due to
additional transportational cost.
I
have an idea that may perhaps can be explored by NTUC
co-operative or other interested parties together with the
grassroot leaders.
Perhaps,
NTUC co-operative can set up a separate branch that venture
into cheap food catering for families. These stalls that are
selling cheap or reasonable prices can be roped in on a
voluntary basis. One may argue that it may compete with other
food catering or hawker stalls for business but think again
why NTUC co-operative venture into groceries business when
other private companies can provide such service ? The
objective is to a maintain a balance in the prices of food to
all consumers in
Singapore
.
Appreciate
the MP concern can look into my suggestion and explore its
feasibility. Pls let me know
what you think about it too.
Thank
you.
Best
Regards
Augistine
WHILE the prices of rice and other staples are skyrocketing, it
still is possible to find a cheap meal.
they are cheap and tasty but they might not be nutritious - not
that I'm implying that costly means very nutritious. there are
many things to consider when we choose where to settle our
meals, not just the cost.
Dr ExK
I would like to ask why the Bedok area food ctrs are selling
cheaper food compared to the rest of S'pore ? We cannot be
travelling all the way to Bedok to have our meals and back
home. This add to our travel costs and doesn't makes
sense...1) Are other food ctrs paying higher rents ? 2) Is
subletting in other food ctrs driving up rental costs ?....The
devils are in the details.

I am a regular at the Blk 216 hawker centre...about once a week.
And two things that I go for.....kopi O and the nasi lemak.
You won't miss out these two stalls because the long queues
seem to be there all the time!
I dont know about cheap and nutrition, but sometimes I got a very
good lunch of 2 large bananas at just 60 cents and a hot soya
bean drink at 1.20 and this adds up to 1.80 which is less than
2 dollars.

Enjoy yr nasi lemak and kopi o....no regrets!
Nasi lemak stall only opens on thurs, fri & sat (mornings
only).
kopi o business is daily from early morning to 10.00
am....yes, business closed at 10.00 am!!!
